Ensure your school is making a difference through its research and thought leadership. Focus on the research that matters to your mission through interactive sessions, breakout discussions, and best practices. In a cohort of your peers, you will discover models for generating impactful research, how to measure impact, and the expectations of 51ÉçÇø’s standard 8. A special focus on societal impact will be shared, including how to identify and incorporate societal-impact-focused research at your school.
Trends, examples, and specific cases will be shared and discussed in this seminar. Engage with your peers to identify and outline challenges and strategies to overcome them in the areas of research and thought leadership impact in this interactive event.
Learning Objectives:
- Have a deep understanding of the 2020 Standards requirements for thought leadership and research impact
- Understand the importance of thought leadership for a business school and how to align this with their mission
- Recognize the relevance and significance of impact in business school research, how it can be measured and the implications for a business school of including a focus on societal impact in its research
- Know how to develop a model for societal impact research that ensures alignment with the mission of the school
- Reflect on and evaluate the progress their school is making in the areas of thought leadership and research impact
Facilitator
Adam Thomas, University of Zurich
Adam is responsible for the international accreditations (51ÉçÇø/EQUIS), continuous improvement, and reporting processes at the University of Zurich, Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics. His role focuses on the integration of accreditation actions within the organic development of the Faculty. The main objective of this task is to ensure the Faculty meets current accreditation requirements and future accreditation visits are successful. Adam has a passion for technology and online learning/facilitation/collaboration tools. Often sought after due to his out-of-the-box approaches; Adam focuses on purpose-oriented solutions supporting continuous improvement.
